Our Gas Log Selection
Converting a traditional masonry fireplace or approved zero-clearance unit to burn gas adds convenience and enjoyment with little effort. The fire will be blazing in seconds for a relaxing evening, and you can put it out just as quickly when you’re ready to go to bed. Peterson Real Fyre vented gas logs are featured in two of the burning displays at the Cricket on the Hearth, Inc showroom in Rochester. Peterson offers a manual burner to turn on and off your log set, or you can choose a burner outfitted with a receiver for remote control. One remote option will be just to turn the fireplace on and off, or a different remote system can be used to turn the unit on and off as well as adjust the flame height.
Some of the log designs you can choose from include split oak, birch, or more rustic pine for the grate, burner, and ember bed that is laid out in the fireplace opening. There are also modern designs of glass chips or bead-like pebbles that can be designed with the dancing flame flickering up through the material. Choose whatever works for your design aesthetic.
Note: You cannot switch from manual to either remote option without buying a new burner system. If you want to have the convenience of a gas fire with more efficient heat,
